Hi,
Are all Indian college degrees given due weightage or is it only popular ones like B.E, B.Tech, B.com etc??...the thing is when I studied 1996-1999 There was a degree called Bachelor of Arts - Corporate Secretaryship. This degree is similiar to a B.Com but less focus on accounts and more focus on legal aspects of business and business adminsiatration. This degree was used as a foundation for the Company Secretary qualification in the same way that a B.Com is used as foundation for the Chartered Accountant qualification. During the course of time, this degree underwent some changes and ceased to be called B.A Corporate Secretaryship. It is now called B.Com (Corporate) to make it more recognisable.
My question is this. I completed the degree when it was called B.A.Corporate Secretaryship, the degree exists today but not the name....will this create any issues while applying for immigration?? Also my field of work is not related to my degree, the degree is a business degree whereas my work has been in the IT field (I am an IT project Manager).
I have all original marksheets and degree certificate issued by Madras University.
I would be grateful if some of the experienced people on this forum could provide answers to the below queries,
1. Will my degree pose any problems while filing for immigration?
2. Will I need to get my degree certified by any authority in Canada to help in securing suitable employment?
..if yes then who does the certification and how do I go about iti?
Thanks for all the help.
Cheers,
Rishab
