My son is going to sponsor his wife from pakistan. How much earnings, he should have to qualify ? If he qualifies and even then I become his co-sponsor, does it put any extra weight in process ?

There is no minimum income requirement to sponosr a spouse.

You can't be his co-sponsor.

You cannot be a cosponsor, bcs noone else but your son can be the sponsor for a spousal application. That being said there is no minimum amount on earnings, as long as he is not on social assistance. If he is employed, and has claimed taxes he will need his Option C print out (call Canada Revenue Agency for that, its free) and T4, might also need letter of employment depending on country specifics (you can find this info in the document checklist form). If your son makes very little income, you could write a letter stating that you will support your son and his wife by helping them financially or letting them live rent free in your home, something like that. Preferably have it notarized (an MP's office might be able to do this for free for you.
