I know that spousal sponsorships can't have a co-signer because the spouse can only be a co-signer and of course someone can't sponsor themselves!

However, there are those who are insisting that this is incorrect.... I'm being childish and want to prove that I'm right, but can't find where it states this!

Can someone please post the link to where info about no co-signer allowed in spousal sponsorships and who is allowed to be a sponsor.

Thank you.

It's quite simple. Nowhere does CIC ask for information on the sponsor's financial ability at or above a certain point in order to sponsor a spouse or a spouse and dependent child. Had they required proof of same on any of the documentation provided, then you could argue that a co-signer might be allowed on a spousal sponsorship, in order to allow a sponsor to meet that point or surpass it. Since they don't, then the opposite must be true, n'est pas? Look at all the forms for spousal sponsorship, does it ask you anywhere to detail your income and compare it with a specific level in order to be eligible to sponsor? No.

Don't argue with ignorant people, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.
