Closed Work Permit - Return to previous job with old valid work permit

Hello, I'm in a very weird situation due to current economical conditions & wanted to understand some nuances of closed work permit.

Let's say I've a closed work permit (Company A) - valid until Feb 2023.

I change the job & get a new closed work permit (Company B), and I change the job with the new closed work permit.

Specific questions:

- Does the old work permit (Company A) becomes invalid after I start the job for Company B? or does it remain valid?
- Can I return back to Company A on same position before Feb 2023 on previous work permit?


This is to prepare for cases if something goes wrong with Company B.

I thought the old work permit became invalid once the new work permit is issued / approved. But I'm not 100% sure.

Agree that normally your new closed work permit would result in the other one getting cancelled. Would check with IRCC in order to be sure what has happened with the first WP.
