Hi everyone!

So my partner and I are applying for his Permanent Residence via family class - common law. However, our application was returned to us with the letter saying the highlighted parts were missing or incorrect. They said that in the category of the Document check list, the "class of application was not properly identified". Then they highlighted on the checklist Part A: 1 : Document checklist - Common Law Partner (Including Dependent Children) (IMM5589).

I have no clue what is missing from that form...as that form is the check list and on the checklist we selected: I am currently living in Canada with my sponsor, and I am applying under the Spouse or Common- Law Partner in Canada class.

And also checked he was applying for an Open Work Permit.

What on earth is it missing?! Of course we've called and called and they don't even put us on hold...the lines are too backed up and instead they just disconnect the call.

Thanks!

you could resubmit your sponsorship application package with OWP......if your spouse is on visitor visa, will advice you apply for vis extension to keep her in status as the OWP (not PR sponsorship) will not be approved in out-of-status......just ensure on the checklist you select the class of application option....."I am currently living in Canada with my sponsor, and I am applying under the Spouse or Common- Law Partner in Canada class"........also ensure in the checklist section....7....Proof of relationship to sponsor......are you and your spouse currently living together.....Yes...section.....that you provide supporting documents.......to avoid delays, ensure you submit the documents as requested in the checklist.
