I'm doing a 1-year program at an approved DLI. The program is PGWP eligible. The program started in Sep 2023 and ends in Aug 2024.
I confirmed from the college that I will receive a completion certificate in mid September 2024 (say 15 Sep 2024).
If I wish to do another PGWP-eligible program of 1 year from an approved DLI, so that my final PGWP will combine the length of both (i.e. 1+1) making it a 2 year study which will make me eligible for a 3 year PGWP, can I:
- Start the second 1-year program in Jan 2025, i.e. within 150 of receiving the completion certificate of the first program? Or does it have to be started in Sep 2024 only?
- Work full-time or part-time in those 120 days (15 Sep 2024 to 12 Jan 2025)? Or am I not allowed to work at all during those times?
- Apply for the second 1-year PGWP eligible program from a different approved DLI only or it can be the same approved DLI too and still the 120 day gap will suffice the conditions of my 3-year PGWP?
PS: My current study and work permits are valid until 31 December 2024 each. I aim to apply for an extension after 15 Sep 2024 once I receive the completion certificate of the first program.
