Hi Everyone,

I am hoping to get a PR through Express Entry - Canadian Experience Class but currently only have 444 points.

I have a Canadian Bachelors degree (4yrs) and 1 year of Canadian work experience. I am now enrolled in a Master's program in Canada (2yrs in Health Sciences).
I was wondering if I can choose the " Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" in my Express Entry profile as I am currently studying TOWARDS a master's degree?

This would allow me to gain an extra 45 points bumping my total to 489 points.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you

Unfortunately, no. Those represent completed programs, not programs-in-progress. You could gain a few points through the 2nd language exam (if you haven't done so already), but the fact that you are studying again pretty much limits opportunities to gain more points. Of course once you graduate with your master's degree, you will earn more points.

Still, that is a pretty good score for only 1 year of work experience (skilled I presume, do you know your NOC?). The threshold score for draws has not dropped that low to date, and most think it is unlikely to do so, but you never know...

I'm in a similar situation, and I'm also confused.

I finished my bachelor's, and I'm currently studying toward a master's (2nd year). According to the Educational Credential Assessments, studying towards a master's (in progress, not completed yet) counts as " Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees.". Completing the master's will give you even more points (135).
That being said, no matter how I enter my information in MyCIC, I always get 120 points for education (it should be 128). The main fields are:

This is my current study: Yes
Standing at the end of study period: In good standing but no certificate or diploma or degree awarded
Was xxxxx awarded a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate for this period of study?: No (Isn't this a repeated question of the one above?)
Has xxxxx had an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) within the past five years for this degree, diploma or certificate?: No (Why am I even getting this? I already specified the degree is in Canada!)

???

May I suggest getting an ECA done even though your degree is Canadian (like mine). That was going to my plan of action.

i agree with you that you should be in the 128 points category since you have already finished 1 year of your masters.

Do you mine keep me posted about how this goes with you?

Thanks a lot
