Dear Experienced Members Hi !!!

I have small query regarding NOC 2146. I have done my BE in Avionics Engineering, however my 14 year long experience in the Aerospace field fits in well within the Job titles and duties defined for this NOC on the following website.

//www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2146// (please remove the forward slashes at the start and end of web address and also add http at the start to open)

I would re-iterate that WES, Canada has already assessed and verified my BE degree as BE Avionics (04 years). Now, I want to know whether I am eligible to apply against this NOC ie Aerospace Engineers?? Infact the term Aerospace Engineering is very broad and there is considerable mobility between specializations. The same is also mentioned on the above website.

Now I want to know whether I can apply for FSWP under this NOC?? Moreover, I also want to understand, how the CIC office process a particular application against a particular NOC. That is will they just refuse to process my application further based on the title of my Degree or will they also give weightage to my relevant experience???

Thanks and looking forward to an early reply...................

Hi Manita:

I am in the same boat as you and was writing to see if you have applied for FSWP under NOC 2146. I also have a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering and Physics and have worked in the aviation/aerospace industry for 7+ years as an Avionics Engineer. Now I am not sure if Avionics Engineers are accepted for NOC 2146. Like you said they specifically mentioned Aerospace Engineering field is broad and encompasses many specializations. Interesting thing is Service Canada website does not list Avionics Engineer as one of occupational title for Aerospace Engineering. Instead Avionics Engineer title is listed under Electrical Engineering.

Also Statistics Canada website states that Avionics Engineer is excluded from Aerospace Engineering.

So I am not sure if Avionics Engineer will be accepted under NOC 2146. Your thoughts and experience? Have you applied already? If so, did you receive any preliminary approval? If not, did they refund your application fee stating Avionics Engineer is not included under NOC 2146?

Look forward to your reply. All the best.

Thanks

P.S. I tried posting the links for Service Canada and Statistics Canada website but this forum does not allow to post links. If you google, Variant of NOC for highly aggregated data, the very first link is what I am refering to. Once there, select code b, then code 21 and then code 2146.
