Clarification on Police clearance certificate needed!!

Hi,

I just received additional documents request wherein it is mentioned that-

New updated original police certificate for you and each of your dependants that is 18 years old or more from each country that you or your dependants have lived in for 6 months or more. If you already submitted police certificates with your application, you need to provide updated certificates for the countries that you and your dependants have lived in since the date you submitted your application. we require the following,
Principal applicant- Oman
Spouse/ common law partner- Oman

My question is should I provide Police clearance certificate only for oman or also for other countries where I have stayed more than 6 months??

Please answer immediately as I have only 15 days remaining.

If you and family lived in any other country for 6 months and more, after the submission of the application, you need to submit the PCCs for that countries too..

you must submit PCC from any country in which you or your dependents lived 6 months or more. (not just after you submitted your app.) ???

I lived in the USA before I submitted the app. and the VO requested new PPC, even I did not returned there after the date of the app.

Hi Alisha77,

Congratulations on receiving your document update request. If you have stayed in any country for more than 6 months after you have submitted the application / full documents, you will have to provide the PCC for those countries to avoid any delays in your application. In the form IMM5669 - for background declaration, your personal history and addresses time lines will tell you and the immigration officer if any additional PCCs are required!

Right now, as far as CIC is concerned, you have been staying in Oman since the time you submitted your application / full documents - the reason why they have asked only Oman PCCs. You need not update all the PCCs of your past countries of residence, unless CIC specifically asked for it or you have stayed in that country again for more than 6 months. The purpose of PCC is to ensure that there are no criminal records against you.

To obtain Oman PCC (you must have done it earlier), visit Ruwi Police Station.
If you are an expatriate, you have to carry:
- Your original passport
- Your resident card
- A letter in Arabic from your sponsor / company saying they have no objection(!?!) in you obtaining PCC
- 2 standard passport size photos with blue background
- Photocopies of your passport & resident card and
- A Visa / Mastercard credit/debit card.

You will have to fill a 1 page bilingual form which is available there for free. The officer will ask you to verify your name in his computer screen before he prints it. The fee is OMR 3.000 per applicant. All the applicants need not be physically present at the police station, though in the form available from the Police Station requires the applicant to sign a self declaration. If you go prepared, and if there is no queue, you should get your PCC within 10 - 15 mins.

For Omani nationals, National ID card can be used in lieu of passport and also, no Arabic letter is required. All other requirements remains the same.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will provide the PCC from all countries where we are stayed more than 6 months!!
