Hello,

I'm evaluating my degree and will be done very soon. Please forgive the long post but I'd like to share my worries with you hoping for suggestions.

I applied for a study permit and was denied based on my current employment situation. I ordered for GCMS note and the VO said my job (sales officer with 3years experience this year) doesn't have current and future prospect and didn't add much weight to my employment situation.

But then, I have been a brand manager for a clothing company online in 2016 in my country. Started working for them before I got my sales job and I still work for them as my side job (I spend more than 4hours there replying to messages and posting). I didn't include it during my study permit application because I thought it wasn't necessary since I have a full time sales job.

Next year March will make it my 4th year as an online brand manager.

Now to my worry, I prefer to use my online job and claim 2years since it's part time job. I have appointment letter and can get reference letter and evidence of cash payment with commission sometimes and my 1year work experience in another field.

Since I didn't include the part time job during study visa application, will it be seen as misrepresentation if I include it now? Maybe write an LOE to that effect? Someone told me it won't be since I didn't lie about it before in my previous application but I wish to get your expert opinion which has helped a lot of people. I'd move my sales job to work history.

Please I really need help.
Please forgive the long write-up.

Warm regards,
Joy

I see that part time jobs are not counted for express entry applications. See the below text. If you have a minimum of 30 hours per week for 12 months, then 1 year can be claimed for work experience.

Your skilled work experience must be:
  • in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation)
  • within the last 10 years
  • paid work (This means you must have been paid wages or earned commission. Volunteer work or unpaid internships don’t count.)
  • at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week). You can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.
