In my forum searches of recent FBI report timelines, I ran across several people asking for CJIS' phone number. So I thought I would create a post for people in the future, who may search for it in the forum. It wasn't an easy number to locate, thats for sure!:

304-625-5590

Good luck!

I just called, the update from CJIS, they are opening applications received on Oct 3rd and finalizing applications received on August 2nd. That's almost a 15 week timeline :o

As of today, CJIS is opening requests received on Oct 6th and finishing up Sept 2nd requests.

my application reached there on 20 nov

no idea wht r they doing people use new system to expedite the process but they started new process which increased time almost thrice

Well that was no help, they're still opening applications from early October and they're finalizing from early September. He explained that they are now rotating the employees, so they may not open applications until they finalize the present applications they have going. I'll wait a few more weeks before I call again.

I feel your pain, my application arrived just when they were beginning to switch the IT systems. Imagine my stupor when I read that my processing time went up from 30 days to 12 weeks. Most painful three months I had in a long time.

Ahhh, then you should be receiving yours soon, if it hasn't already arrived :D

Yes, I received it last week, my wife is sending the whole package to Missisauga tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Called the FBI today and our application received on the 22nd of Oct still isn't opened, we're at 9 weeks in queue. CJIS is only on Oct 16th applications. Also, today the FBI just increased the timelines from 9-10 weeks to open and 12-14 to process. And we grumble over the weight for CIC to give SA :-\

Very painful wait, and I feel for those who are in the process because I went through the same. I must say, countries that are mocked in the US for their "socialism" or the fact that they "do not work hard and are always on holiday" have delivered their respective certificates in 7 to 10 days door to door from request to envelope being in the mailbox.
Any way, end of the mini rant, hang in there guys but keep calling them periodically; sometimes you get to speak with someone competent, other times you speak with someone who does not seem to have a clear picture but they should at least be able to give you an estimate for the delivery date.

I don't understand why and how they were ever allowed to release this new update, when it should have never passed the QA people. Shame on the American government! Not only did they foolishly spend billions on the Obamacare system and it still doesn't work correctly. They also foolishly released a major update and overhaul of the FBI system. All the contract firms hired to work on these projects should immediately have their contracts yanked and the government should focus on hiring competent APPLICATIONS ARCHITECTS, not hacks who google search and then copy and paste code together which was architected for utilization on other projects. Too many hack developers in the world, who have no concept of architecting something from the ground up and designing the code in such a way it can be appropriately grown. My rants done too....

Today they're opening applications from Oct 21 and 22nd :-) They said to call back Friday to confirm if my husbands is in the system. Finally something is moving somewhere! Who would have thought CJIS would be faster than CIC :-\

I called them now and they are opening applications received on Nov 10. They received my application on Dec 8. I also got a letter from the bank, that my cashiers check is not yet used and it will expire after 90 days. My cashiers check will expire on 4th March. Hope they open my application before that. :(
