Applied on 22nd Nov.. ICT-WP for self, Spouse-OWP and Son-TRV
Had a Query(to my company) on 16th Dec...
Responded on 15th Jan... with contract revisions...
Medical request came in on 20th Jan...
Finished Medicals on 24th Jan @ Apollo Chennai...

Its only a week, waiting for the Status...

I personally prefer staying in India, I am kind of being pushed to Canada for a requirement... so it doesn't excite me as much for now..

If its coming through, I need to decide on Ottawa Vs Toronto... Any Suggestions?
Also is CAD 80k considered Good or an Average pay for family of 3 ? We are not a high maintenance family...Will I be able to save anything in that ?
Travelling for probably a 3yr period... Buying Vs Renting an Apt ? Whats a good choice ?

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks Guys

I've lived in Toronto all of my life. I can't comment on Ottawa.

I think 80K for a family of 3 is average in Toronto. I wouldn't say it's good - rent and housing prices here are high.

Buying vs. renting is really a personal choice. I would recommend that you start by renting for a year so that you can learn about the various areas in the city you decide on and also learn about housing prices and what your money will buy you. I wouldn't rush into buying the first few months you are here.

I am big fan of your advises. Yes you are right we need to give time and then purchase property.

Thanks for your quick one, Scylla

I have been to Canada a few times but its just freaking me out that I might have to make this move in such a short notice.

Cost of living in India(though gone up significantly in recent years) is still only a fraction compared to Canada.

I make CAD40k in India compared to CAD80k in Canada... just too many unknowns.. for me right now :)

Hopefully it will sink in slowly

Once again.. Tks for your opinion
