My Grandmother was born & raised in Canada, Ontario - Ridgeway area. Maiden name, Sherk. Came to the States 1910.
I was told that I might be able to (and my children) apply for Canadian citizenship. Is that true?

Most likely not true.

Most likely one of your parents has a claim to Canadian citizenship but you most likely do not.

Your children will not have a claim.

This is the link if you want to read up about it. But the summary is that it's likley that you are not able to claim as canadian. Your parent (son/daugher of your grandma) maybe able to.
