Hello

I have written the canadian citizenship test twice and passed but because I did not meet up with residence time I was not granted the citizenship. This time, I have met with the minimum residence time, so does anyone know if I can ask for a waiver and not write the exam again for the grant to citizenship without unduely prolonging the process

If you are 55 year old or older when you apply for citizenship this time - then you don't have to take the test again. Otherwise you will need to write the test again when you reapply. CIC won't waive the test.

Ok thanks. I better start getting ready to write the test again then. Its kind of weird though, the test is to assess your knowledge of Canada and its people. If I have written twice and passed twice 20/20, why test me again on knowledge of Canada. I think its one of these robotic ways of a process that needs redefining.

So why did you apply for citizenship when you did not meet the residence time in the first place?

@bellaluna

That's a mindset of blame culture. The reason why I applied earlier is immaterial, what I need now is genuine answer to my question and for which scylla has been gracious enough to give. I am moving forward, not backwards.

Fair enough but it was a reasonable question given you might expect additional scrutiny of your application next time around. Basically nobodys business but yours I guess so no need to respond here in this public forum. Good luck next time around.

Hi All, I have a my test in July 2018, however few days ago I renewed my Driving License and Health card, these are ones I sent as copies with the application form, although these are still valid and not sure when I will receive the renewed one, my question, will this interfere or create a problem on the test date which also includes an interview. Thanks and much appreciated for your feed back.

But it is true..it was your fault, not Bellaluna's or the government.
