Now that Citizenship is based on 3/5 Years residency requirements, are there any changes to the Citizen processing methods so that the processing is now expedited?

Why would they go faster? The main thing that has changed is your residency requirements but that has nothing to do with security checks. As there is a flood of new applications the one thing that we have to be prepared for are longer waiting times.

Two/three months? That is a stretch...mine took just under 7 months with no hiccups such as finger print request.

Hi everyone,

I really appreciate if you can help me.

I have been in Canada as a permanent resident for the past 3 years now. I am eligible to apply for citizenship but when I fill out the present calculator, it gives me an eligibility period from 5 years ago till now. Now that I wanna fill out the form it says to write down all addresses you were during the eligibility period! The first 2 years addresses will be outside Canada (my home country). So should I check the box that asks" During your eligibility period did you live outside Canada?"
