Citizenship vs. PR renewal processing time

My PR expired this month. I am also now eligible to apply for citizenship. I was wondering what's the processing time for PR renewal and also for citizenship -if anyone who applied recently could provide some input that would be highly appreciated.

Renew your PR card and apply for citizenship. It will take years before your citizenship application is finalized. At least a year as best estimate. You can get your new PR card in less than 4 months thesedays.
