Hello,
I was wondering, as we are applying family class and are being sponsored, are we going to have to take a citizenship test? This is something I've been wondering, I thought I had heard that we didn't but someone was telling me the other day that they were sure we would. What's the story?

Thanks

Yes - you will have to take the citizenship test when you apply to be a citizen unless you are over 55 years old (or under 18).

But just to be clear - right now you are being sponsor to be a permanent resident (not citizen). You will have to accumulate three years of residence in Canada as a PR before you'll be able to apply for citizenship.
