I recently got my citizenship test dates in Montreal office. When they sent me all the documents with the citizenship booklets I requested them to process my file urgently as I was going to leave Canada temporarily for work. I have also requested to have my test and oath ceremony on the same date as advised by the immigration customer support telephone line. Apparently some immigration offices provide this. But nothing was mentioned in the Citizenship appointment letter

Has anyone gone through a similar process or if not what is the “normal” waiting time between the citizenship test and oath ceremony.

Has montreal office given you any special attention based on your needs?

I've heard the normal waiting time between test and oath is 2-4 months.

Unfortunately I can't answer your other questions.

Sometimes they may do it on the same day or a couple of days apart but when I did it, they told us 2-4 months and mine was actually 2 months after my exam although not in Montreal.

I was planning to travel around the dates of my oath and I asked about scheduling dates beforehand and they said they absolutely do not do that. I think they feel that citizenship should be important enough for you that you will bend your schedule to their needs and not the other way around. If you don't get your oath on the same day, they will send you a letter at some point in the future to attend the oath and you will have no idea when that will be exactly. If you can't make it, you can give them a good reason why you couldn't make it and they will give you another date but again, it will be at their convenience, not yours, could be any time up until a year later and might not be suited for you either.

You could still go to your local CIC office and ask. Maybe there was supposed to be another letter included for your oath.
