Hi,

Do I need to physically live in Canada to meet citizenship requirements of physical presence of 1095 days? Or can I just cross the border daily to Windsor and come back, since I am currently living in Detroit and just received COPR.

Thanks

well, it does say you have to live in Canada 3 out of 5 years, but I think the calculator only asks for days in Canada. Have you been filing Canadian taxes?

id submit your questionon the citizenship forum.

To become a Canadian citizen, you must

  • be a permanent resident
  • have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years
  • have filed your taxes, if you need to
  • pass a test on your rights, responsibilities and knowledge of Canada
  • prove your language skills
Depending on your situation, there may be additional requirements.
