Hello Dear,

I have a question related to presence calculator. how should i list my Temporary status in Canada while calculating physical presence calculate.

I came to Canada as student and i have extended my study permit and work permit few times means different issue dates and expiry dates before becoming PR.

So should i list my status combined or separated as international student and temporary worker based on issue and expiry date of permit ? for example.

Example (Separated)
************************************************************************

Status----->Issue Date------>Expiry date
**********************************************
Student ---> 1 Jan 2010 ---> 1 Jan 2012
Student ---> 1 Jan 2012 ---> 1 Jan 2013
*************************************************

**************************************************************************

Example (Separated)
************************************************************************

Status----->Issue Date------>Expiry date
************************************************
Student ---> 1 Jan 2010 ---> 1 Jan 2013
*************************************************

**************************************************************************

Thank you.

If your status was continuous then just list it as;
Status----->Issue Date------>Expiry date
************************************************
Student ---> 1 Jan 2010 ---> 1 Jan 2013
*************************************************

If not, then;
Status----->Issue Date------>Expiry date
**********************************************
Student ---> 1 Jan 2010 ---> 1 Jan 2012
Student ---> 1 Jan 2012 ---> 1 Jan 2013
*************************************************
Hope this helps.

to help u when did you officialy become PR? Month and day

u enter the day you officially legally able to stay here:

try the date you u legally able to work (last WORK PERMIT date before you become Permnent Resident).

They no longer count days-date of entry before protected person status for refugee cases and also they no longer count credit days student visas permit with no legal permit to work.

but i guess u became pr 2013 and should qualify now or very soon if u didnt spend days abroad during pr status.
