Dear All,

is the new citizenship law of 4/6 will be valid for me. I will complete the 3 years next October and in case the answer is No means that I have to renew my PR as I spent almost the first 2 years outside Canada.

in addition, I will appreciate sending me some links about the new law so I can read also.

Thank you all.

Yes - the new law applies to you. You will have to wait until you have lived in Canada for 4 out of 6 years before you will be able to apply for citizenship.

You can read about it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp

George,

Go ahead and renew your PR as you still have to make up time; the earliest date for you would be Oct-Nov 2016 if you have not gone abroad.

All the best,

SFD

The new law applies to EVERYONE who has not applied before June 2015.
