Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
So the Citizenship Commission lists 32 Judges inclusive of 1 Senior Judge (The Boss).

Geographical spread:

ON - 16 (of which 14 are in the GTA area!)

AB - 3

MB - 1

SK - 1

QC - 5

BC - 6

Guess why applicants in GTA are processed much faster all other things being equal? They have almost half of the CJ component but I bet they don't have half of the approx. 300K inventory. A farcical system that relies on a CJ having the final approval....when do they get a chance to review the files - they go on vacation, have sick days etc? SK/MB applicants ouch!

Considering 1 in 2 new immigrants end up in Ontario (mostly the GTA), the numbers actually make sense.

Two points that don't make sense to me:

1- QC is the second largest interms of population. Yet, we only get 5 judges, one less than BC (third in terms of pop.) and more than 50% less than ON.
2- How come BC is very slow compared to QC? With less population and one more judge, I would have expected BC to run with the applications like water. QC is going fast now, while the rhythm of BC is still the same.

1) It's probably not done by total population but number of applicants in each province. Vancouver area has lots of immigrants. A very high percentage.
2) It could be the types of applicants. My friend's uncle is actually a citizenship judge from BC. He said that he deals with a high number of cases of suspected fraud (more than other provinces) - mostly wealthier people from China who would like a "backup plan". They are very questionable in regards to their residency obligations and usually get investigated.

How about Atlantic Canada? why are they ignoring it? Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick. Nobody is noticing it?!!!!
