I am aware that I am ineligible to apply now and I know that the new law that aligns with my situation, will be passed this fall.
However, I am curious to know when I will be able to apply because I do not fully understand the C-6 and preC-6;the calculator is telling me I will be eligible in Feb 2021.
Here's my situation :
(1) I arrived in Canada as a visitor on March 7th 2007.
(2) I applied for Refugee status in September 2008.
(3) Became a Protected Person (claim accepted) in July 2010.
(4) Applied for Permanent Resident in January 2011.
(5) Became Permanent Resident on February 3rd 2017
I have never left Canada, neither have i been in jail since I came to Canada in March 2007.
Under the new law, when would I be able to apply for my citizenship?
