I want to sponsor my husband from Romania (outland), using the Family Class sponsorship.
I have changed my name when we got married, and I have applied for a replacement Citizenship Certificate, through the Romanian Embassy. However I have not received it yet, and we would like the start the process of sponsoring and move to Canada sooner rather than later. Unfortunately I did not ask for it to be processed urgently, and I don't think I qualify for what they ask for urgent processing.
I still have the photocopy of the firstly issued Citizenship Certificate in my maiden name. Anyone know if we can apply for sponsorship now, using that photocopy? The certified translation of the marriage certificate links my maiden name to my name after marriage. We will of course send CIC a photocopy of the new certificate when it arrives. I can add the explanation on a separate piece of paper.
I already asked the visa office, but no reply yet.
Is there any way to contact CIC and ask, if we don't have an application submitted yet?
