Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone have had their citizenship application returned because the "TO" date was not filled out on the application form for present employment/education. I submitted my application earlier this month and have been thinking about this.

For my current job, I have been with the company since 2010. I have also been doing my Master's part-time since September 2013. For both of these, I only filled out the "FROM" date but not the "TO" date. In the past, I've always filled out "present" for the "TO" date (I looked over my past PR and PR Card applications) but this time I did not. Silly me!

How long does CIC usually take to return applications?

Thanks!

Normally, for "PRESENT" you'd have to write the application date (i.e. the date you signed the application on -- that would signify the "PRESENT" time). They should return your application due to that empty data being inconclusive, but I hope they don;t -- I just hope they forgo that somehow...

You need to enter the date you are signing the application for submission.

If you have submitted a letter of reference for the current job and it says something like "Mr. ABC is currently employed in our organization as XYZ .." then maybe the VO will take it as conclusive data.

Can't speak for the Master's though.

It is interesting that even the new forms have an update, there is feb and May 2014, I am not sure if there was a huge difference between the two but I think if there was would be very minimum as I did scan both quickly and found no big differences

The only difference is for question regarding CBSA authorization. It clearly state in the new form(May2014) DO NOT order CBSA report if you checked 'yes' on the form. Maybe the guys at CBSA are flooded by requests and they're trying to cut down on those requests.

Unfortunately, I did not submit a letter of reference. For work records, I only sent photocopies of Notice of Assessments and T4s for the past 4 years.
