My common law partner, 2 of our children and I came into the country as refugees and received our permanent residence in July 2010. My partner is the primary applicant and when we attained the number of days of residence in Canada to allow us to apply for citizenship my partner was unwilling to apply for citizenship. I waited for a year then decided to go ahead and apply for myself and our kids. I sent our applications in December of 2013 and they were returned as incomplete. They asked me to send the children's complete school records which I did but again they sent it back stating that I had not included my youngest child.'s school record even though he was not included in the application because he was born here. I had only included him in the part where I listed my children. I sent these records as well but they returned it yet again this time marking my children's applications as complete and mine as incomplete stating that I had not included all my passports which I had. I called the call center and explained to the agent that at the time we entered the country our documents were seized and not returned until we got our permanent residence by which point my passport had expired. I did not renew it until a few years later when I thought I might travel. The agent asked me to write a letter explaining this and attach it to my application. I sent it back with the letter and have not heard from them. I am now wondering if I am able to apply without my partner because when I try to check online putting my client ID does not show anything. Should I be searching using my partner's client ID?
