Hi there,
I submitted my citizenship application in Nova Scotia September 18, 2019. It was acknowledged December 4, 2019 and began processing on January 7, 2020.

My concern is how long this process it taking. I have read other threads in which people heard back much sooner and completed the citizenship test.

Should I be worried?

Also, my passport has expired in the meantime, is this a problem?

Thank you!

Although it is a bit late for you I think there are few cases from September batch that are exactly in your stage. I am surprised you did not get a test request since people were getting test requests until March. Anyways one thing you can check is if they sent you any additional request like Fingerprint etc, some people have reported that they never received the request but the office assumed that the applicant has still not provided the required documents.

You can also look at the tracker sheet, and that has a database of all the people who applied in September. Search for 2019 September thread.

Regarding Passport expiry, I think you only need a valid passport if you plan to leave the country, for CIC it does not matter

Thank you for the reply. How do I find the tracker sheet? Is it just the thread people post their comments and questions on?
