Hello,

I will do my application by using the new form (the one without intent to stay in Canada)
I have few questions though.
For the part 6H which is the work and education history:

What do you write to the "To" field if it is your recent job/education and you still work/study there. Should I write N/A, TODAY or application's date? Same thing applies to addresses. What should I write for my current address' dates?

Also what if I worked but I also had a month of unemployment in the relevant period?
I will give the dates in From and To fields and write "Unemployed" to the Work/Education field but what will I write to Employer, City,Country? just N/A? Or should I mention the city that I was unemployed?

Do I have to add extra information about the dates and reasons for being unemployed? If yes, unemployment details will not fit into the Work/Education box, should I add another paper and explain the case?

Work/Education field should be the job title or I should just specify if it is a "Work" or "Education" ?

Also, for the tax filing requirements, should we add the 2017 as taxation year too although it has not ended? If yes, what do we have to choose for Required and Filed checkboxes?

Thanks for the help guys.

Hello Burakcayir,

Were you able to figure out answers for the above questions you had? I'm trying to help somebody in this forum with same q's. It's sad nobody responded.

Regards

Is it the immediate 4 taxation years (current rule) that is part of the requirement for citizenship or any 4 taxation year with in 6 years before citi

I got no clear answer but here is what i did. Btw, i am still waiting for AOR, so i cannot guarantee its correctness.
I listed until 2016 and did not mention 2017 for the taxation years.
For the current employment and address, i used application's date as the end date.
And for the work, i wrote the job title to the work/education field.
For unemployment period, i wrote city name and dates, put n/a to employer field, and wrote "unemployed" with few words of explication to the work/education field.

I did the same. The 2017 year has not finished yet and the tax filing will commence in 2018. So we cannot possibly file now with no T4 forms etc. (which are issued around february 2018).

From the Guide: You must have filed income taxes, if required under the Income Tax Act, for four (4) of the taxation years that are fully or partially within the six (6) years before you apply for citizenship.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp

For the end date for current jobs, in the application guideline they say to put "today" for current jobs:

"Each has a “to” section. This is where you put when you finished that activity or moved from that address. If you are still working or studying, or if you still live at that address, write “TODAY” or the date you are signing the application. If you do not know the exact dates, use your best guess."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=015&top=4

No need to provide reason for unemployment. From the Guide:

"Complete the chart in section C. You must list all your work and education history including English/French language training for this period and must account for each month.

If you were not employed (i.e. you were unemployed, retired, homemaker, volunteering, etc.) you must indicate this under “Work/Education”, and indicate the time period. Do not exclude any period of time during this period. Do not leave this section blank. If you do, your application will be returned to you."

They only return application if the history has gaps in it. If you put application date as end of period date or re-shuffled information across different columns in that table, this is unlikely to have your file returned. They just have a vacation backlog. I applied next day after you and I am still waiting for my AOR too. Best of luck to us.

I am not sure if I am posting this on the right thread but I guess it is somewhat similar.
2012- filed
2013 - filed
2014- did not file. Was off for school abroad gone for 1.5 years back in Canada in 2015.
2015 - filed
2016 - filed
Planning to late file the 2014 ( not sure if I have to though since I did not work)
Based on either rule c6 or 24, will you suggest filing for 2014 first before I proceed?

You satisfy the rule 4/6 for tax filings. So it should be ok in theory.
If you were required to file but did not file in 2014, that could create a question mark for CIC.
You can first make sure, if you were required to file in 2014 by contacting CRA. If you were not required, then you can select Not Required and Not Filed for the year 2014 on the citizenship application form and it wouldn't be a problem.

I had an impression that the tax requirement, under c24, is the immediate 4 years before sending your application so in my case 2013, 2014,2015, 2016. Unless I am wrong.

No, citizenship application form says "within the six years immediately before the date of your application". So any 4 tax filing since 2011 is accepted even if they are not sequential.
