Hi All,

I'm nearing my 1095 days in Canada in a few days and would like to see if/how much I should wait before submitting the application.

I have read through other threads with different suggestions, and understood that the buffer is good to neutralize any miscalculations people may have regarding their time outside of Canada.

However, after I arrived in Canada as an international student in Dec 2016, I have not left Canada. I have also never been on implied status since every permit I have (study permit extension, work permit) was approved and mailed to me before the expiry of the existing permit.

My first study permit was expiring on 30 Nov 2017, and my second study permit (extension) was valid from 23 Nov 2017 (7 days before expiry of the first). Same with the work permit - 2nd study permit was supposed to expire on 17 Nov 2018, and my work permit was valid from 7 Nov 2018 (10 days before expiry of study permit).

Same with PR - work permit was supposed to expire 7 Nov 2021, and got my PR on 24 Mar 2021 (about 7 months before work permit expiry). Would have had it sooner but everything was delayed after I applied at the start of 2020.

I am wondering if I should also apply with some buffer time or would I be fine if I were to apply on day 1096?

Thank you in advance for any helpful suggestions!

If I were you, I would wait a week and then apply. Yes, you are right, you don't need it since you have tracked your time spent here accurately. But I would wait 4-6 days anyway. I mean, what do you really lose?
