Could someone please throw some light on why do we need GCMS notes?
Is it just to see the rejection details?
And when can we ask, at any point during processing or only after rejection?
I read on some post that it is best to get GCMS notes before re-applying. But I remembered that only after I re-applied :(.

GCMS stands for Global Case Management. It is basically what Canadian Immigration and Citizenship department of Canada is currently using the following computer systems for processing immigration / visa applications.

You can apply at any point of time. on avarage of 6-8 months after receiving AOR. Where most of the application are processed within that time frame

Apply online at https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en - scroll to the very bottom. Check that you have read the Privacy Notice and click on Continue button.

If you are physically in Canada, you can obtain them for free under the Privacy Act.
If you are overseas, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent.

Average time you will get your GCMS notes: 30 days

Thanks for the reply honeysingh, but I was more looking for why do we need to see/get the notes.
If you go to to the below link, you will find some thing like Assessments in page 3 of 15.

http://www.gcmsnotes.com/Sample_GCMS_File.pdf

From this GCMS notes it is easy to find, what stage your application is in Rightnow, is there any progress ?
when is the due days of your application to be completed?
and lot of questions .....

If the Processing Visa officer has some concerns over your application, he will add comments there.

So if you get this before any decesion is made on the application, There is a chance of correcting before hand.

HI Guys,

Please help me reading my GCMS notes.

I am June 2013 applicant, NOC code 2174.
I applied GCMS notes on 11th Oct and got on 13th November, here is summary of my notes

Eligibility : In-Progress
Security : Not Started
Criminality : In-Progress
Medical : Not Started
Type : RCMP Screening
Status : No reportable trace

And following is the notes

"CEC File reviewed by C&I Case Processing Agent. PA's file has been reviewed under CEC category.
It appears:
- PA has qualifying employment at 0,A or B skill level for at least 12 months in the last 36 months;
- PA has language proficiency at the required CLB based on NOC skill level;
- Temporary resident status was maintained during qualifying period of work.
CEC REQUIREMENT APPEAR TO BE MET .
Letter of reference related to work experience on file - not verified
To CPPO for further assessment/decision

Above notes updated on 27th August before sending file to CPP Ottawa on the same date Eligibility Assessment status updated to
"Recommend Passed". Wondering does the Eligibility Assessment happens in Sydney or Ottawa?

Thanks

Hi smarty_1982,

Eligibility assessment will be done at Ottawa by a senior VO. I have pretty much the same kind of notes as you.

Dear PandFeb2013,

I see medical request on your profile, how much time it took between having Eligibility "Recommend Passed" status in GCMS notes
to your Medical Request ?
Did you order one more GCMS after initial one ( does Eligibility changed from "Recommend Passed" to " Passed " ).

Thanks in advance
