CIC's reaction to children with only one legal parent?

I am hoping there are those who can share their experiences with CIC when your spouse has a child with no legal father or mother. In our case we have a court order removing the biological father from any legal standing with the child. How has CIC responded in the past? Thanks to everyone.

I am not sure what you are asking but I have 4 children which I have full legal and physical custody of. I submitted a copy of my divorce stating this with my application. So far CIC has not requested anything further on that.

well in our case the father is nowhere to be found so obviously would not be able to consent to my step son's immigration. We have a court order that removes him as legal parent. I am just wondering what CIC does in these situations. I am sure it is not uncommon.

My guess would be that the court document would be enough. I didn't submit consent from my ex-husband either. As of now they didn't request anything further when they sent me a document request. They may still request something from me however your situation sounds like the court document should be enough.

It shouldn't be an issue since the court has now legally stripped the biological father of any and all rights to the child. I should also note, that by doing this, it has opened up a new door in which you can now adopt the child as your own ....
