CIC website says 10,000 cap being reached very soon

My brother in law mailed his application today and then I saw this on CIC. Total bummer.

March 8, 2012 update: we are still receiving a high volume of applications and expect to reach the global cap of 10,000 applications very soon. People applying now should be aware that there is a strong possibility that their application may not arrive at CIC before the cap is reached.

Anyone know what the chances of an application mailed yesterday has of making it before the cap? Will they return the app? Save it till July?

I don't think anyone can predict the chances since we have no idea how many unopened applications CIC currently yet have to look through.

If his application does not make it into the cap they will return it, they will not save it for July.

In any case, it is highly anticipated that the in-demand occupation list, and the points matrix, will change in July, so his application may not even be eligible by then.

So fingers crossed it will make it within the cap!

What are the predictions for the in demand occupations? I did read that age and language will have a stronger impact on the points.
