We went back through the border after our 2 week visitor record and requested to stay until Christmas...we have to go back on Dec 26 (they literally are not giving me a break here) and ask for more time. When we got the new visitor record, it was printed in my previous last name (previous married name), NOT my current married name that my passport and everywhere on the application has listed.

We finally got the letter in the mail with sponsorship approval and it also lists my previous name. I can't figure out why!

How do I fix this? Do I just email them - will CIC actually update the information (I've heard sometimes they ignore information from emails)... I can just see getting the PPR and it be in my previous name, but my passport lists my current/new married name.

It will be better not to interfere with the name at this time.. you can request a name change later any time after your receive your PR card. You have enough evidences so that should be fine.

I went ahead and emailed them and they've already updated my name in ecas. Whew.

Hi there! I had a similiar problem. They screwed up my first name on ecas. My husband called up CIC asking them to fix it. Took some time, but it happened :)
