Hi,
I have a fixed deposit in my name that covers the required amount for my application now. How do I establish proof for these funds? Will a certificate from the bank showcasing the FD in my name, with the amount and date on it, be sufficient?

Get a certificate from bank that you have FD on your name starting from XXXX date and it can be liquidated any time. Make sure it is 6 months old FD. otherwise CIC might ask for source of funds.
provide copy of FD with bank certificate.

Yes thats all you require for FD. A standard format from bank which in-houses your name, FD account number, details of funds. These all should be on the official letter head of the bank with their contact details.
