CIC number for previous permit history/ permit eligibility inquiry

Hi,

I have previously held temp work permits for Canada and would like to speak with someone at CIC who can confirm I can reapply for another work permit given my age, new rules etc.

I assume there is a department of CIC that would be helpful but dont know which and would appreciate a number to call if anyone can help.
