I totally agree re: CAIPS - it helped us a lot to see what exactly they had written on file for us. It at least gives an idea of why they called the applicant for an interview. Based on this, you can prepare and anticipate potential questions. It takes about a month (or a little longer) for CAIPS notes to be processed, so I'd apply for them right away if the interview date is Aug. 10th.

We have an idea why they're calling us.

First, my husband is originally from Iraq, living in Sweden - they probably want to see him and ask him about his background, what he's doing, what he plans to do...and 2) we were married in the UK where a lot of our relatives are, we needed Marriage Visitor Visas to do that - they want to make sure we followed all laws and that the marriage is legally recognized in Canada and the UK.
