Cost of Living is lower in montreal... though finding a job will be the most toughest thing in entire Quebec due to their French-biased laws..

Vancouer is very expensive. I would advise to not consider settling there unless you have a lot of money.

How about Ottawa? Is that a good place for software developers/professionals? How about its taxes and cost of living? What other cities are good for IT professionals?

Sabeen, please search this forum and you will find detailed information about Calgary. Residence in main Calgary will be expensive and as far you go away from City Centre rent reduces. Rents in Calgary were comparatively lower than other cities but due to floods they have risen.

Admit your children in public school and no fee will be payable because education at this level is free in Canada. All high schools have same standard. There are private schools too but they are expensive.
