Hi,

I'm curious about whether it is possible to send additional proof of relationship.

My sponsorship was approved and our application has now been sent to Beijing for my wife's evaluation. We are having our wedding ceremony on the 22nd of April and are hoping we can send additional photos, receipts, etc. to further prove the legitimacy of our relationship before she is approved/rejected.

Is this possible? Has anyone done this before?

I've sent an e-mail to the immigration office in Beijing but it seems they are very slow to reply or aren't going to reply.

Thanks!

I think it's perfectly OK to voluntarily send more supporting documents, and in your case I think you should do it. You'd better add a letter explaining why you are having the ceremony now but not before.
But are you having this ceremony in China? Just want to remind you it's not good to leave Canada for a long time before your case is approved. 2 or 3 weeks might be ok.

I have been living in China for the past 2.5 years. They approved my sponsorship even though I'm here in China already.

The information about all of our plans, even the wedding are in our application for my wife. However after the ceremony we hope to send photos of all of the family and guests together.

What I'm wondering is if there will be significant delays in our application if we send additional information. Or if they haven't started processing her application if it won't make any difference.

It does not harm your application. Be sure to include UCI, applicant name and file number so that VO can easily match them to your file.

Yes, I am a Canadian citizen born and raised so it wasn't an issue for me applying outside of Canada.
