Recently my Brother had their first baby in Canada and now they are thinking to apply for Child Tax Benefit to Canadian government.

Can this lead to a rejection to my PR application coz a member of this forum has faced rejection as his uncle from whom he claimed points was on social aid in Canada.

Child tax benifit everyone takes here even if he is owning a million dollar home and driving limo. It is small amount so Canadan govt is not worried over that and it is for the benifit of child. Even if a person takes child tax benifit and the child is not in Canada even then the authorities are not much concerned.

Unemployment benifits if someone is taking then they dont award points to his relative. I have seen here they ask for refund of unemployment benifits if they find that the person left canada and took unemployment benifit. It is given by the govt to unemployed people so that during that time can serach the job and notfor travelling to his home country for pleasure.

The case you are refering was that the applicants uncle was taking unemployment benifits and not child tax benifits.

I cannot see any reason why your brother receiving the Child Tax Benefit, to which all parents are entitled, would negatively impact your application. It is not considered social aid. Good luck, Uncle Jnathan!
