Hello,
Started sponsoring my child inland application couple of months back around May when in Canada, recently had to come to home country India on emergency along with kid who was PR applicant , he received a medical request now,I am thinking to get his medical tests done here as his return travel back to Canada is few months from now, he is visa exempt to travel to Canada.
My questions around how his application will get impacted he being in India as we started his application inland and AOR , medical request received recently ,

can he travel to Canada on visitor or will get copr or something to travel if it’s approved before he travels back?
Do I need to inform cic he is India now? Not sure as we just came for few weeks to 2-3 months

sorry for long post thought might need the background to understand situation.
Thanks in advance

Your child can stay outside while being sponsored. update his address. Medical can be done at any panel physician .

However, if the SPONSOR (you or your spouse) is a PR, he/she will need to live in Canada to sponsor. So are you a citizen/PR?
few weeks would be fine. 2 -3 months would be consider moving out... and not the lenght of a trypical vacation.

I am PR the sponsor and going back to Canada but my son along with my wife would stay in India few months, Do you know can he come back on visitor’s visa he is visa exempt or will get copr or some sort if approved before travel date?

Entry to Canada is always subject to CBSA but yes they should be able to travel to Canada while waiting for PR. As already noted you were required to be living in Canada during sponsorship so the application could be denied. Assume you also notified CRA if you have applied for CCB that both you and your child are outside of Canada. You need to update the address for you child during the application process or else you may get processed as in Canada and need to obtain a PRTD to enter Canada.

Thank you.
So if the application is approved while he is outside Can with Inland category , he need PRRD? can I carry PR card for him or send to India.

also If I change to Outland , will he get COPR or something to come to Canada?

There is NO inland category for child sponsorship.
Update the address of your child's current location, IRCC will know that he is outside and will send PPR when the application is finished. Then child will need to travel and land with stamped passport to become PR.

how does that work when child doesn’t need a visa (he is USC)?
