Hi Everyone! This is a great source to gather information from experienced & expert people.

Your input is highly appreciated.

I'm on a working visa & got married to a Canadian citizen. We've recently submitted our spousal sponsorship inside Canada & got a reply that they've received it after a month (which is awesome!).
I kinda know the process as to what's going to happen with the application. We've also included in the application that my daughter who's currently in the Philippines is my dependent. However, my question is coz I'm very confused, what's going to happen to her (daughter)? Will there be a separate application to sponsor her from me once I become a PR or is she automatically joined into my application as my dependent and that my Canadian husband is the one who's sponsoring both of us. Need your knowledge here.

P.S.
nobody helped us in our application. Just followed the instructions they provided.

Thanks!

Hi,

Since you have a dependent and if you added her as "accompanying", she gets the visa same as yours once your PR is approved. Were you able to have your daughter do an upfront medical?

I've read your old posts and the one saying you got pregnant while still studying. Is that the same child you mentioned left in Philippines? You gave birth in Philippines? If it is the same child, then your child is already a citizen since you mentioned you got pregnant by a Canadian citizen.

>>> We only heard from CIC that they've received our spousal sponsorship application. No medical exam yet.
In any case if this gets approved, I can go back to the Philippines and bring her to Canada, right? 'coz she's also got a PR due to the application.

Is the child's father Canadian? You need to clarify this.

If so the child should also be Canadian so would NOT be included as a dependent in your own PR app.

--- no. She isn't Canadian. Born in Philippines from previous relationship.

In that case as long as she's listed in your current app as an accompanying dependent, and does medical exam when requested, she will get PR at the same time as you.
