Hi,

I am planning to sponsor my spouse who lives outside of Canada. He is divorced and has a child who lives with the ex-spouse (she has full custody). He has no contact of her ex-spouse who left the country with their child. My question is how is Canada Immigration expects him to declare that child and have him complete a medical examinations?
Thanks for your replies!

I have a similar situation where my spouse I am sponsoring has two children he does not get access to. Haven’t received a medical request yet, but will soon. What happens if he cannot get access to the children to complete the medical? Anyone know the options they give?

yes on the divorce order

He needs to provide proof of the custody order and a notarized statement declaring that he understands that the child will be excluded from the Family Class and never be able to be sponsored. Ideally, he should make efforts to find and contact the ex to get the medical done and show proof of the that.
