Can parents who are Canadian PRs apply for child care subsidy for a child who is staying with us as a visitor ? Our son is a US citizen and he does not have a PR yet. Is is possible to apply for child care subsidy ? Thank you.

I am living in Ontario and i will be applying his PR from Buffalo once sponsor is approved.

You will not get child care subsidy until your child becomes a PR. But some cities have waiting list. You can be in waiting list to get the subsidy. When fund will be available they will contact you and ask for all the documents. I know in Toronto, you can be in the waiting list. Because right now waiting time is more than 1.5yrs.
