Hi I'm new here, I hope someone can help.

My wife and I are Permanent Residence we landed Nov 2014 (Ontario), we soon returned to the United Kingdom (our country of birth/nationality) to sort out our affairs etc. with the hope of returning to Canada permanently within 12 months. In the meantime we discovered my is pregnant with our first child due July 2015.

My question is really what happens now, do we need to sponsor/apply for Permanent Residence for our child before we can take him/her with us to Canada?.

Any help welcome.

Yes you can apply for PR to your child.

If you are in UK now, then apply from UK.

1. Re-read the OP's post, they are PRs and therefor they can't apply for PR for the child while residing abroad. As the child will have a visitor visa exempt passport, they can probably travel to Canada with the child and then submit the sponsorship while residing in Canada.

Okay. Some of my Indian friends applied for visitor visa for their child in Delhi, but it was rejected and they asked them to apply for PR?

No, if the TRV was refused for a child, they applied for a TRP (Temporary Resident PERMIT) NOT PR
