Hi
my self & my wife got PR in 2009 & went back to home country .we got a baby boy in 2010 , We llanded back in canada for good in 2012 .We brought our son on Temporary resident permit(TRP)
I applied for his PR one month back to CPC Alberta. but till now i have not received any communication from them . Am not getting the status online. How can i know the status . Any body with similer experience?

Vegreville posts 10 months for initial time for a sponsor approval (that's why most people do an outland application, it's often faster.) It's likely to take at least a couple of months just for them to open and create a file for your application and until that time you won't be able to obtain any information on the case.

My guess is that you're likely to get Stage 1 & 2 approval simultaneously in your case (young children don't require PCCs or medicals or anything else for the background check!) But only time will tell. The good news is that Vegreville seems to be cutting their queue (it's dropped from almost 12 months last spring to under 10 months now.)

Fortunately, your child has a TRP. Make absolutely sure that you renew it BEFORE it expires - you don't want any lapse in a TRP.

Good luck!

I believe the application should have gone to Mississauga rather than Vegreville.

That's what I had suspected as well, and spent quite a bit of time reviewing this section last night. I couldn't find anything definitive that SAID that however, and the forms are a bit ambiguous, so I withheld comment. One would think that if that is the case, they will return the application to the OP and advise them of same (I cannot imagine they will transfer the application to CPC-M, since the forms are different.)
