Hi all,

I'm currently working in Alberta on a temporary work permit. I'll be applying for PR under the AINP SRS stream, and I'm unable to find out if I need a paper from the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training?

I have completed my education and apprenticeship in Europe, and I've been working as a cook and chef all my life, with over 18 years of experience.
According to Alberta Learning Information Service you do not have to be certified if you are self-employed or work for an employer who is satisfied that you have the skills and knowledge expected of a journeyperson certified by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

But on the Alberta immigration website they say:

You must have an Alberta Qualification Certificate in a compulsory or optional trade, or
a Recognized Trade Certificate in a compulsory or optional trade issued by a recognized regulatory authority in Canada recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) including:

a valid trade certificate with an Interprovincial Red Seal,

a valid trade certificate without an Interprovincial Red Seal in a Red Seal trade issued by a regulatory authority, or

a valid trade certificate issued in a non-Red Seal trade that is recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board.

So, I'm kinda confused if I need to be Certified or I can just go with my European papers.

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
Greg
