::) I submitted my sponsorship (mother) application last 2009. Does anybody have any idea whether the immigration will still check on my 2010 income before approving my application on 2011? 'Coz I had stoped my employment for the meantime due to some reasons but did not apply for social welfare, and will surely get back to work before the year ends. Will this affect my application? Thanks a lot =)

no there is no income requirement

yes there is. the poster is sponsoring a parent, not a spouse.

i'm sorry i don't know the answer to your question, but i would assume they would check income again.

Where is your application - CPC Mississauga??? and you submitted sponsorship in Last 2009. If yes, you are like to get approval of your sponsorship in 2013 and not 2011, as the current processing time at CPC Mississauga is 37 months and it is constantly increasing.

Regarding income requirement, CPC Mississauga will check your income before approval and if it is above LICO, CIC will approve your sponsorship application.

??? OMG! Thanks for letting me know, I really didn't expect they would increase the already very long processing time of 27 months to 37. It was very obvious that Canada does not even welcome older generation.

Eversince I migrated here in 2007, my mom had been living by herself in another country waiting for me to sponsor her and now she still needed to wait for 3-1/2 more years. I am having second thought if the wait is worth it when my mom will be suffering from loneliness for 6 long years :-[
