Hi Seniors and folks who have gone thru your medicals with kids,

In my request for passports they are asking for a picture of my kid to be within 3 years on the passport. His passport was made in the month he was born now he is 3 and half years old. His passport expiration date is in 2012. Do I need to go for a new passport or will this passport work?

This is too aggravating as they have just provided 45 days for medicals and providing our passports.

Please help share your information if you were in the similar quandary

??? ??? ??? ???

Ok Guyz, i'm back, apologies for not being in touch since last 3 weeks....Congratulations to all the members with the status update, rest, please keep peace for few more days...things will fall in place soon...

abt my proceedings, i've got my new passports from ah.bad and sent to the CHC, they might have received it on Monday....hope this time i get through with the visas on the passports...it was smooth ride till they asked for my re medical and then new passports...praying hard for the final outcomes.....

To CAforCA

its preferable that you start with the preparation of new passport for ur baby, u might have gone through my earlier post and aware about what happened in my case....please feel free to contact me if you need any info on this...dont delay n apply for new passport today itself...

CAforCA, I may land up in same situation as my daughter passport is also 3 years old. by the time I get the PPR it may be 3 years and one month old.

I am planning to prepare a Tatkal passport application and apply for passport as soon as I get the PPR.

I suggest go for a Tatkal passport for your kid

Dear Both @CAforCA and @ankit_20 ,

I also had the exact situation, but I sent the old passport of my son and it had been accepted with visa granted.

So I really don't know how much this small crack matters if you choose to send old photo PP.

If you really want on the safer side, I would suggest, if you guys have time you should renew PP with new photo otherwise send the old one only.

Thanks Paresh bhai and Malu08
I think I will go with new passport but I have a followup questions I am getting my medical examination done for my son with his old passport and then can I submit his new passport for stamping?? Also can I ask them for some extra time??

I might also be facing similar issue...

I think the new passport will have a different number compared to what was given at the time of application. Will it have any impact on the processing time?
