Hi guys, I have a family friend who got a study permit recently and did the whole application process.
However she’s changed her mind since she’s arrived and wants to change fields from tourism / hospitality to healthcare (PSW particularly).
I didn’t know she was coming and/or what courses she selected but recently heard from a family member and she’s having remorse about selecting hospitality course that she did.
She’s Landed in BC as that’s where the college is that she got accepted into.
However she wishes to come to Ontario as we are here and she doesn’t know anyone in BC either.
It says on the Study Permit:
Institution Name: Designated Learning Inst-BC
Field of Study: Hospitality / Tourism
Does that mean she cannot study outside of BC? And/or if she does, she won’t be meeting requirements for Work permit?
And does it means she cannot study in another field?
Someone with actual experience please share your knowledge. Like if you had this on your study permit and you changed schools/study field and if there was anything in particular you had to do in order to get your work permit after.
Otherwise I can make basic sense out of what it says as well.
