Hi,
I got an ITA recently with 2171 (I feel that this code doesn't match my job). I'm planning to change my NOC code to 2173.
What is the general procedure to change NOC code after receiving ITA?
Also, does the salary requirement for that NOC code I'm selecting in the region I work have to match with what I'm being paid?
I haven't asked for a reference letter from my employer yet. Just want to clear my doubts before I do so.
I work for a small-sized company with less than 20 employees and getting paid now Approx. $40000 a year.
The job duties as described in my offer letter that I signed 2 years ago closely matches 2282 (User support technician) and also the salary range matches for this NOC code in my region (Mississauga, ON).
Duties from my offer letter:
General Duties:
⦁ Researching on solutions with minimal supervision prior to responding to customers’ questions.
⦁ Develop scripts and applications based on requirements
⦁ Performing solution implementation either onsite or remotely
⦁ Documenting implementation steps
⦁ Performing knowledge transfer to customers’ IT personnel
⦁ Manning the Helpdesk to work on customers support requests by phone and email.
⦁ Logging and tracking issues with the use of Microsoft CRM and sometimes, client specific helpdesk system.
⦁ Ensuring support requests are responded and resolved based on pre-defined Services Level Agreement (SLA).
⦁ Conducting remote session to troubleshoot customers’ issues.
⦁ Communicate effectively with internal and external parties on project progress status.'
⦁ Working closely with the manufacturers’ product support teams on issues escalation.
⦁ Responding to after-hour support requests if needed.
In addition to the above duties, I've also have been doing all the main duties in NOC 2173 as well, but my wages don't match even the lowest wage for this NOC in my region.
I have a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and an Ontario diploma in Computer Network Technician.
What NOC code should I choose 2282 or 2173?
Please share your thoughts..
Thank you.
